| Chairman's Message |
CSI Bangalore Chapter has been doing well in many areas, while there is always some room for improvement. Some of the tasks that we have to set for ourselves for this year’s operation are proposed as under : Membership : We should set a target for increasing the database by at least 20%. Our database has to be cleaned up with the latest contact numbers and e-mail ids. National and International Conferences : we have planned for an International Conference on Advances in Cloud Computing from the 26th to the 28th of July. This has been well received by the industry. We are fortunate to have speakers of international repute speaking in this event. Our efforts should now be focused to get more participants in the event. As every year we will be planning for a national event on IT for Defence during the month of Nov/Dec 2012. Monthly seminars/workshops : We had set a trend to run at least one seminar/workshop every month. This has to continue with latest topics on Cloud Computing, Testing, Data mining, Green Computing etc. We are also planning Industry focused conferences for placement officers (I3 for I3), IT-HR Managers, BFSI etc. Student Activities and Annual Convention : Mr.Sabapathy has been doing a wonderful job in conducting very useful programs to the students community. Now as the regional student coordinator his role has expanded. We wish him the best. We are conducting the annual student convention in SIT – Tumkur in October’12. Kolkata National Convention: The National Convention for 2012-13 is being organized at Kolkata, a historic city with strong connections to the development of computing in the country. We look forward to the active participation of one and all and make Computer Society of India – Bangalore Chapter a vibrant chapter in the country. |
