About Us

Computer Society of India (CSI), a non-profit organization of IT professionals was formed in the year 1965 with the idea of creating a knowledge share platform for what was then a fast- emerging sector.Today, CSI takes pride in being the largest and most professionally managed association of and for IT professionals in India. It has 72 chapters, 511 student branches and 100,000+ members across India.

What is Our Goal?

While the economy is recovering from the impact of the pandemic and most traditional financial institutions are enjoying strong earnings, competition in banking has never been more intense. The disruptive potential of FinTech firms and Big Techs are for real as they are gradually evolving as a serious challenger to the traditional banks with three key enablers propelling them forward

  • (a) ability to deliver product and services on the strength of technology backbone with marginal investment in assets as opposed to traditional banks
  • (b) more effective customer service
  • (c) cost effective operations riding on less stringent regulatory oversight.
  • Save money when spending in online advertising

The accelerated pace of technological innovation is giving rise to new business models at an even fasterspeed. Today’s competitive advantage doesn’t come from being big, but from being fast and nimble andthat should hold true in the foreseeable future. Banks need to embrace change and harness the powerof digital forces to innovate in smaller, bolder cycles.

As established financial institutions increasingly need to move at digital speed to deliver startup-like innovations, and as fintech firms search for scale of business, there will increasingly be partnerships and collaborations between these types of entities as well as the increasing use of third-party providers to deliver solutions at a much faster pace than was the case traditionally.

The increasing adoption of digital platforms also leaves the system vulnerable to attack and hence the increasing significance of cyber security to make the banking systems and operations more robust and resilient to gain customer confidence in accelerating the delivery of services and last mile connectivity.
